Conlon Birrell

Conlon Birrell, as a preferred Category A consultant to Sunshine Coast Regional Council, was selected to produce the Sunshine Beach Placemaking Master Plan. Our involvement as the principal designers delivered a well received and much loved Master Plan that has attracted accolades from many important community figures.  The first stage of the Master Plan was the Streetscape on Duke Street which provides improvements to pedestrian access to local business areas as well as upgrades to the existing park and bus stop facilities. Significant landscape planting and artwork have also been incorporated in line with the master plan for the area. The Sunshine Beach project is about preserving the character of the Coast and we have taken inspiration from the natural assets of Noosa National Park.   We have designed a series of terraced pontoons which are reminiscent of landforms found at the national park and have created a space for people to sit, explore and enjoy.
